Is the range indoor or outdoor

It has been 3 years since I took the CHL class. How much studying of the should I do before the class?

Depends on who is doing your class and what range they use for qualifying. you will have to ask your instructor directly.

You will learn everything necessary for the test during class. Just bring a notebook and a couple of pens.

You are asking about the instructor's class?

The range is outdoors. Bring sunscreen, a hat, and plenty of water. DPS does not allow you to wear shirts without collars or shorts on their range.

Studying before class? Don't worry about it. Everything will be covered - in detail.

Though it's not required, I would recommend doing two things:

-- Read the TEXAS CONCEALED HANDGUN LAWS AND SELECTED STATUTES 2009·2010 http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/ftp/forms/ls-16.pdf

-- Pick up a copy of the "Texas Gun Owners Guide"

IMHO, if you familiarize yourself with these two, you will get to really focus on what the instructor is saying rather than spending your time trying to read while he/she is talking to the finer points.

Has anyone converted the code from PDF to a word document. I find it hard to read the fine print and would like to print on in at least 12pt for the class..

When I last printed the PDF, I zoomed in on the "print setup"., Making it quite a bit larger. Then printed it collated on both sides of the paper. Office Depot does a nice spiral binding for about 5 bucks.

Take away the second first, and the first is gone in a second.
