TR 100's- how long is it taking now?

#1

Post by ironcat4 »

Hello,

I am attending the chl instructors course this next week and heard a lot about the TR 100 forms we need for students taking quite a long time to receive. Has anyone had any instances where it took too long to receive?

I was also wondering once we complete the course and pass obviously, could we make a personal appearance and submit payment for our forms?

Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences.

I wonder if there will be a shortage of the forms this Summer because they will soon be obsolete.

I ordered TR-100s about 10 days ago and had them in less than a week. It usually takes 10 to 14 days. The packets take much longer.

I'm trying to find out how DPS is going to handle TR-100s in terms of ordering and inventorying them between now and Sept. 1st. The DPS Sunset Bill does away with the requirement for a form with a serial number, but it doesn't prohibit DPS from using such forms if they choose. I can't imagine they would chose to do that since 1) the authority to charge $5 was repealed; and 2) it's a very labor-intensive process that serves no purpose.

If they don't continue with the TR-100, then I'm sure they won't be ordering and inventorying them all the way up to Sept. 1st, so there has to be some cut-off, formal or informal, for ordering. I don't think a decision has been made as to how they are going to handle proof of successful completion of the DPS course. That's why I ordered more TR-100s than I normally would.

I ordered last week and they arrived today. I think that is a record. Of course that is TR-100's only. Heaven only knows when the packet will arrive!

Do it yourself packets arrived on the 29th. That is the quickest I have received them in a couple of years. Wonder what happened?????

I ordered TR-100 and packets at the same time. The TR-100s came in in 8 days, the packets came 4 days later. Everything delivered in less than 2 weeks.
