Greetings,
I'm looking for a range that I can use for the proficiency exam for six students on April 15th.
I tried Bracken a few months ago for another class, and it was incredibly crowded, with a several hour wait. (I'd tried calling to make a reservation, but never succeeded in speaking to someone).
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

you might try McQueeny, but they have their own classes, so I'm not sure what you can work out?
other than that, the closest to us (I'm in Schertz) is St Hedwig, I think?

That's why I always stop by to schedule classes at Bracken, but unless you schedule a couple months in advance you're not going to get a slot. I've used Bexar Community but you can't reserve. I've always been lucky that there's been two-three lanes open when we've arrived. Everyone on the line has always been cooperative about me moving targets. If you've never shot there I'd check them out first.

Thought I'd mention that if you can shoot first thing in the morning (9am on Saturdays) you might find an opening at Bracken. I've found those times the least scheduled.Timba wrote:Thanks folks!

Tim,
Bexar Community Shooting off I10 has several bays for hand gun. I like shooting there.
Lone Star Handgun has a nice range but run their own LTC classes and may not want the competition but, never hurts to ask.

Folks, thanks for all the input.
I wound up making a reservation at Cedar Ridge in Bulverde, which is under 20 miles from the student's home.
Bexar community range was very flexible in offering time slots, but we weren't able to get a feasible time.
