Trouble submitting CHL-8

Anybody else having trouble uploading their CHL-8s? I keep getting a "Invalid, .pdf file format only" "File name can't contain any of the following characters: \ /:*?<>|"

My file name is the terribly complicated, "CHL8.pdf".

Windows 10 machine, Firefox browser.

Called RSD yesterday morning and did get a callback about 15 mins later. Basically, was told to try a few hours later. It's a day later and I'm stilling having the same issue.

Tried it with IE, no joy there. Guessing not a browser issue.

Make sure your not using foxfire or your pdf is more than 10mb (if you scanned at 600dpi it can happen)

I was having same problem sending a chl100 for one of my older vet students that needed help. I scanned again at 300dpi and it went right through.

I also had problem upload pdf file. Converted to jpg and it went though OK.

I had a problem when scanned at 600dpi, one pdf was 5mb and the other was 7mb, but I think it did say all docs can't be over 10mb combined. I rescanned my DD214 at 300dpi and they went through.

It's a 2 page CHL8, total file size was 1.35mb. Instructions on the contact page say PDF file format only, but tried as two separate JPGs, one 748k the other 654k. No joy, same error.

Tried Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Chrome.

I'm starting to think something is broken.

Anybody successfully submit a CHL8 this week?

Think it's time to break out an envelope and stamp.

I submitted one yesterday, didn't seem to have a problem. Wish I had something to offer, but it seems like you've tried just about everything. Good luck. Let us know if you discover anything.

Ended up sending it off via US mail. Hopefully, it'll arrive safely in Austin and be opened before the new year.

If you don't mind sharing, what operating system and browser combo do you use?


Edit: Just tried a test attachment from my home machine. Windows 10/Firefox browser. PDF attached no problem. I'll try my work machine tomorrow and see if still errors. Either the issue is resolved, OR something else is at play.

RSD did tell me they have issues with iOS platforms and cell phone submissions, but I'm not using either.

I had the same problem earlier this week. I just figured it was something with the website... waited a couple of hours and tried again (using the same file name) and it worked.

I uploaded mine for my Saturday class and had no problems.

I was able, finally, to attach the PDF. Got confirmation about 20 mins later. Also sent a hard copy a day earlier with a post-it note about the efile issues.

Mrs Cavanaugh must have let the tech support folks have their milk and cookies.

Recently, I have been having a problem getting CHL8 to go thru. When it seems to, I am not getting the confirmation email. So I called this morning the gentleman looked and said my file shows nothing since March 5. I have had several classes since then and even have confirmation email to show for it. I am not sure what is going on and it does bother me a bit. The phone line that they used was horrible I could not tell whether I was talking to male or female. He did give me a fax # for back up and I think I will be sending by registered mail a copy of my CHL8's for the last few months.

Anybody else experiencing this?

I never have a problem Just put in envelope and mail it.
Dont laugh. Have no idea on sending : by this machine.
