Now it says "Total topics 39992"
so it is functioning correctly (I am easily amused)

If you look at the URL of the latest topic, it contains the argument "t=42652". That is the total number of topics created. I guess since the forum started, 2652 topics have been deleted. I presume those were mostly by new members that broke the forum rules. I hate to burst any bubble, but that's just my 2 cents.
