I win with a verbal warning!!

Most CHL/LEO contacts are positive, how about yours? Bloopers are fun, but no names please, if it will cause a LEO problems!

I win with a verbal warning!!

#1

Post by Craig8d8 »

Driving down a local pkwy this afternoon and my valentine one goes off, I look at speedo and I'm going 40mph, I continue on and see the LEO. At this point Im pretty sure the limit is 40mph. He turns around on me and lights me up!!

He's walking up to the truck and taps my "2nd amendment shall not be infringed" magnet. By this time I have my window and the drivers rear window down and both hands in plain view on the wheel. Radio off.

He introduces himself and tells me he stopped me for doing 39 in a 30mph zone, I quickly respond with-

"officer xxxx for your safety and mine I do have my chl and have my pistol on me".

He says "that's great! Where is your pistol?"

Me "it's on my right side".

Him "may I have you dl and insurance?"

I hand him chl, dl, and insurance.

He runs my dl and comes back to my truck.

Him "well have a great day and slow down some, just a verbal warning for you today"

Me "thank you officer xxxx! Merry Christmas"

Him "merry Christmas to you as well. Btw I like chl'ers"

I was about to leap for joy at that point!!! I'm not sure if it was the chl or the way I handled the stop but I was extremely happy with the end result! Lol

Lucky you!

It's Christmas. I've been driving the speed limit, and people are passing me like I am standing still. Let's all slow down a bit and safely enjoy the holidays!

Of course he told me his name but I didn't catch it. When he came back to the truck I looked and his name tag was covered up by his jacket.
