Campus LEO Contact...Gunfire?

First post here. I thought i'd share a LEO contact i just had. I live on Campus at TSTC. A few minutes ago i was sitting in my apartment when i heard what sounded like 2 shots from a rifle. There are no guns allowed on campus so i called it in. They asked for my apartment number and said they would send someone out. About 2 minutes later i see a campus police officer pull up outside my apartment. I wasn't quite thinking at this point and i just opened up my door and walked out. I noticed the officers hand twitch for his gun so i quickly moved my hands into plain sight. He walked and asked if i called, what happened, and told me to stay inside and that he would be back.
About 15 min. Later, he comes back and says he talked to a few people on campus and there were different recollections on how many shots were fired and where they came from, but they didn't find any shell casings or see anything suspicious. They asked for my id for their report so i handed them my DL/CHL. But told him i wasn't carrying (not allowed on campus) He radioed my DL in and i heard the dispatcher report "All Clear...CHL holder" The officer thanked me, handed my back my ID's and told me he would cruise around a while and to call him if i see or hear anything else.
All in all I was pleased with the response time and courtesy of the Officer. Still don't know what the shots were from though
