haven't been pulled over in YEARS and as soon as i get my plastic, 5-0 seem to be falling from the sky!!
got popped the other day for an HOV infraction... i travel the same route every day and the one day my traveling partner stays home sick is the same day there happens to be a HOV enforcement officer sitting there. unfortunately for me, i hadn't had my coffee yet so i hopped onto the HOV out of habit.
first time EVER seeing an officer there... and i take the HOV almost every day.
guy was VERY cool, handed him my TDL/CHL and he didnt even read it. looked it over, handed it back to me and proceeded to ask, 'man - what all have you done to this car?!'
LOL
very nice guy, let me off with a warning and engaged in pleasant conversation the whole time.
he was metro motorcycle, by the way.

Are you into aftermarket improvements or is your car falling apart?
Back when I owned some early 80's Toyotas I used to be a little bit into aftermarket (WAY after market with 20 year old cars) modifications to my cars. Now that I'm married with a kid on the way its more like my car looks like its falling apart because I don't have the cash to spare for the $1000 deductible to fix the cosmetic damages.

my car is a muscle car... 2004 GTO with tons of performance mods and some appearance mods - it looks good and sounds like a top fuel dragster when it takes off. ;)
i feel you on the 'failing quality of my ride' front as well, ive had to go through some rough times lately, luckily for me my 9 month unemployment streak just ended last week and my family is going to be ok. in fact, the day i found out i got the job - i washed the 'for sale' ad off the back of my car's window ;)
that was a joyous occasion for sure!!

I think "Cursed" is the wrong title...
You've been stopped twice and no ticket either time...
More likely than not that plastic card contributed to saving your bahookey both times.
Slow down there whipper snapper!

you're probably right regarding the card saving me... it's just odd that i haven't been stopped in YEARS and now, all of the sudden, twice in less than 2 months?!
and for what it's worth, neither time was for a moving violation... im a good driver. ;)

Hey Schuff, good to see you on here! It's that beautiful RED Goat! It attracts way too much attention!!
Glad the LEO had interest in the goat. If it had been a mustang, you might not have been so lucky!
Wonder how many other gastiresoil guys are on here??

My vehicle is a base 2002 Toyota Tundra truck in gold with a missing hubcap, a few dents, and some rust spots.
Nothing that would atract too much attention which is how I like it.
I tend to be a "boring" driver as well.
I've only had a handful of LEO encouters in my life, and having a CHL hasn't changed anything.

Sounds great! The weather should be cooling down soon, and make for some great days to shoot.
Need to find a good range between Houston and Austin and put something together for this fall.

I hadn't been pulled over in about 5 years prior to getting my CHL. Then within the first 4 months I got pulled over 4 times. Twice for speeding and 2 times for a burnt out brake light.(Soon as I replaced the left one the right one went out)
Only two of the officers asked me about my gun.
All 4 times I got let off with a verbal warning.

Two comments........... Nice car! My son has a 2009 G8 GT with a slightly updated version of the motor in the GTO. He installed a "loud switch" under the dash which, when pressed, turns the stock exhaust into a set of straight pipes that dump the exhaust gases (and noise) right about where the driver's door lines up. It is stinkin' LOUD...................and fast.
Second comment, you should edit that picture so that nobody can look up your license plate and track you down.
