Tarrant County Sherriff stop...

So a few weeks ago, I was running late to work, and was being very dumb with my speed (yes, I'll admit that...)... Saw a cop coming over a hill in rural tarrant county, hit the brakes... Cop spins around, so before he caught up, I went ahead and stopped, got my ID and insurance out (CHL not in yet...). I passed the guy doing about 10 over, AFTER slowing down by about 25 more mph... (yeah, I know, bad call on my part...)
Cop comes up to me, he's about 50, carrying a S&W Sigma .40 (bad choice, IMO), and asks with a chuckle if I know why I'm being pulled over... (It was all I could do not to ask if a taillight was out... LOL!). I said yes, he took my stuff back to the car, came back with a ticket, and asked if I was late to work. "yup"... In spite of my age (21) and ridiculous speed, the guy was very respectful and so forth. Didn't make any effort to slow my progress to work (whole stop was <5 minutes), and sent me on my way saying "Drive safe, and get yourself to work!"
Moral to the story... +1 for TCSO. I know I deserved the ticket, have stopped speeding again (so yeah, $200 taught me a lesson real quick... That's a lot less ammo for the range!), but in spite of everything, the guy was very professional and didn't try to waste any extra time to prove a point...
Sidenote: I just cut out the foam to fit the shape of my AR-15, and had the foam cutout in the right seat. Why he wouldn't trade my foam AR for his real one still baffles me...![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)
