I made sure I had left everything in my truck when I got to the courthouse today. I wait in line put wallet, keys and phone in the basket for the trip down the conveyor. As I'm about to walk through the metal detector I realize I have my spare truck key still in my pocket, I alert the HLS behind the counter and he tells me not to worry about just go on through. Well, bells and whistles go off and the sheriff deputy is standing there with a wand. I wear a ranger style belt so the wand hits the buckle and goes off, deputy tells me to raise my shirt. When he sees my holster and mag holder he asks, Did you show your badge when you walked in ! I told him I don't have nor would I ever have a CHL Badge. He said I don't blame you one bit for that!

You should buy one and wear it. I have been waved through without any wanding at courthouses simpley for wearing my VFD badge.
