I would say this was a negative encounter...

Most CHL/LEO contacts are positive, how about yours? Bloopers are fun, but no names please, if it will cause a LEO problems!

Pasadena police shoot armed bank robber

A Pasadena police officer shot and killed a bank robbery suspect this morning, and bomb-squad officers are trying to determine if a box the thief left behind is an explosive device.

The man robbed a Chase bank in the 5100 block of Fairmont Parkway [Right up the Beltway from us] about 9:30 a.m., said Vance Mitchell, spokesman for the Pasadena Police Department.

He walked into the bank, showed workers a gun and demanded money. Tellers complied with his orders.

Before he left the bank, he put a box on the counter and said it was a bomb, authorities said.

As he walked along the sidewalk toward a Starbucks coffee shop nearby the bank, a Pasadena motorcycle officer spotted him and ordered him to stop.

The man turned toward the officer, pulled out a gun [Darwin Awardee move!] and the officer, in fear of his life and the safety of others, fired at him at least once, hitting him, police said.

No other information was immediately available.
Of course there is no other information available...And this is a nice area of Pasadena along the Beltway...You just never know what will decide to stop and look for opportunities to perform criminal acts these days...

He robbed a bank, and was on his way to Starbucks? I knew they were expensive, but really?:

I would say this was a negative encounter...... not really I lean more to expected ending. Lets see you go out rob a bank and get shot by a officer. yup expected ending.

That was where I banked when I lived in Pasadena.
I guess JC Penneys or WalMart was too far to walk.
Good for that officer, Pasadena has lost too many in the past; a couple were friends of mine.
