Most CHL/LEO contacts are positive, how about yours? Bloopers are fun, but no names please, if it will cause a LEO problems!

Another Good HPD Encounter

#1

Post by myron243 »

This happened a couple of years ago. Before I found this forum. To set the stage a bit my wife has Parkinson's and as a result her sleeping is really messed up. So it's not unusual for her to be awake at 3 am, as she was this night.

Mrs Myron woke me about 3am asking “did you hear that? Was it thunder?” I had heard nothing. A bit later she got up because she couldn’t get back to sleep. I dozed off until she woke me about 4am saying “someone is ringing the doorbell. Now they’re knocking.” I got up, put on some pants and stuck my 9 in the back of my waistband. As I started to the front door I could see flashing lights pulling away. He stopped about a half a block down my street. Being a cat curious person, I went on out on the walk. Holy crap. My landscaping had been rearranged. I was in the street surveying the damage by street light and flash light when I saw the cop approaching. He said good morning and kinda laughed. He asked if I lived there and I told him I did. He approached with his right hand extended to shake hands. When he was about 5 feet away I raised my hands to about shoulder height and told him, as I was pointing behind me “I have my 9 in my waist band back there.” He continued smiling and approaching and said “please keep it there.” As we shook hands, I replied “I fully intend to now.” He proceeded to explain how the pill head left the street, took out my neighbors mailbox, clipped a light pole and proceeded to rearrange my landscaping. Something was dragging under his car so he was trying to fix it when the cop arrived on the scene.

The noise she heard was the young drunk taking out the brick mail box behind us. We're on a corner and he jumped the curb and continued down my side yard and some other maneuvers.

If you're curious as to the re-landscape, photos at the link. http://myronsrandomthoughts.wordpress.c ... g-officer/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Yeah. Our bedroom is on the back on that side of the house. I'm also glad he didn't come through the fence and land in the pool.

As I was reading the story, I was thinking to myself "Boy this would be awesome if there were pictures." And you delivered. Glad everyone is ok. I hope the druggie is off the street.
