TX DPS on I 35
TX DPS on I 35
I was dead wrong. 96 in a Construction zone. Trooper was very kind. Gave my DL and CHL. He ask me where my weapon was. I explained to him that I had a Commander on my right side and S&W .357 in my front pocket and my wife had a Glock 26. He had a strange look and asked me if I had an emergency. I told him that I had a "brain fart" and he laughed. He told me to slow it up and have a good day. No ticket. God looks after stupid people every now and then. For the last three days I have drove under the speed limit and I am sending in extra for the Troopers Association.

They have never been that kind to me! In Houston, around the 610 area, the Troopers write tickets out of precinct 1 or Betty Brok Bell's old court. If you have never had the experience of visiting that court....give me a call and I will tell you about the joys!! Now that she has been dismissed from the bench for forging her dead mother's name for a disabled parking sticker, I am not sure if the Troopers are so bad on 610--it was obvious before that they were pulling people over for revenue and would find a reason to write the ticket once you were on the side of the road.

sometimes I wonder...
sometimes I wonder if the entire state isn't a construction isn't a construction zone.
I just wonder how fast carlson1 was going before he saw the LEO.

I carry a S&W 340PD in the front pocket. It fits perfect. I trust it more than a Kel Tec.da.suxor wrote:WOW, that is a lot in a pocket....carlson1 wrote:S&W .357 in my front pocket

I have about a 15% ticket rate. Usually if I'm in a car that gets pulled over we've been let go...thats just my experience though.HighVelocity wrote:Yep, don't skip church this Sunday. In fact, you should go twice.
I've never heard of a State Trooper letting anyone go without a ticket before.

For the record, any and all "revenue" from traffic tickets goes to the County. DPS receives nothing. Also, Troopers do not work traffic inside the city limits of major Cities. Loop 610 is well inside the city limits of Houston. You must have observed HPD or HSO units. Harris County also has very active constable patrol units as well.jbirds1210 wrote:, I am not sure if the Troopers are so bad on 610--it was obvious before that they were pulling people over for revenue and would find a reason to write the ticket once you were on the side of the road.
