NORTH RICHLAND HILLS -- Police are asking the help from the public in identifying a man who initiated a traffic stop and impersonated a police officer Wednesday.

Police say the man was driving a vehicle that resembled a police car when he flashed red and blue lights from the grill area of the car at a woman driving at about 9:30 a.m. on Rufe Snow Drive just North of 820.

The woman told police she pulled over and the man approached her, asked her for identification and asked to search the woman's vehicle.

The woman complied and the man wrote down her personal information and asked her personal questions that she felt were "inappropriate for an officer," police said.

The woman contacted police after the man left.

The man is described as between 30 and 35 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 210 pounds with a stocky build.

He had strawberry blond hair worn that was short on the sides with longer spiked hair on top. He had a thick mustache with long side burns near the ear lobe.

The man was wearing a dark navy blue shirt with short sleeves and snap buttons. He had no patches or ID badge. He also wore a gold "spinner" stress ring on his right ring finger.

The suspect's vehicle is described as a white full sized four-door car. The marking on the right front passenger door were dark colored block letters that spelled either Richland Hills or North Richland Hills. Anyone with information should contact Detective Rica Garcia at 817-427-7036 or 817-427-7000.

That doesn't sound good...now he knows where she lives. Hopefully, stopping her is as far as his kicks go and he won't use the information for anything.

It sounds like she got a very good description of the person and the vehicle. With some good publicity, they should be able to catch the guy quickly before he does any more damage.
