i even know about the spot , i drive it everyday .
anyway i pulled over off 146 into a gas station parking lot on the south side of Kemah . i had both my ID's in my hand before he got out the car and waitied with my hands on the wheel.
The officer had kinda a hard look to him but took my id's and didnt say a word at first , just mentioned my speed and if i had a reason for my speed i told him i had no excuse and apologized . he said "no worries , it happens " then went to go to his car, he turned back and said do you have your weapon on you ? i said yes sir its on my hip . he said "ok just dont reach for it "
he came back and first thing out of his mouth was " its good you have your gun on you , i dont understand why people get a chl and dont have a gun with them " i agreed and told him he was my first encounter and wasnt sure what his reaction would be . he said " depends on the officer , i dont mind as long as you dont touch it . then he mentioned how state troopers may ask you out of the vehicle or a different city may vary , but he turned out to be very polite and respectful officer .
i mention this and his earlier demeanor when he approached because ive had lots of encounters (traffic stops ) in my years and i admit ive never had quite an innocent look . im younger (under 30) tattoos, hat backwards blah blah , so im never really surprised if an officer is short with me (particularly when i had longer hair and louder music

but i have to think that him knowing i was a chl broke the tension with him and it was a good experience .
after we chatted about chl a little he said i am gonna give you a citation , he said he clocked me at 60 so he wasnt letting me off but wrote my ticket for 59 to save me the large fine .... sucks i got a ticket but i appreciate the small break , after all i was cruising ....

oh , he also told me its not necessary to show you CHL but he said he appreciates it and finds it odd when he discovers later you have a chl , even weirder a chl and no hangun

i have to say besides the ticket . it was a great experience , and a very cool officer who seemed to have his stuff together .
oh yeah , anyone have any drive school recommendation , i just got on my wife;s car insurance , she's might beat me tonight
