Most CHL/LEO contacts are positive, how about yours? Bloopers are fun, but no names please, if it will cause a LEO problems!

Maybe it doesn't apply to product liability??
I'm pretty sure you can be prosecuted and sued if you set up booby traps and injure or kill a burglar.
Tyranny is identified by what is legal for government employees but illegal for the citizenry.

The family is suing SureFire claiming the gun-mounted light was of poor design and is the reason the officer accidentally pulled the trigger instead of what he was trying to do which was turn on the light.

I think the best way not to get shot by the cops is to not be involved in illicit activities that are going to make the police want to draw down on you in the first place....but thats just me
So the Surefire light has a switch inside the trigger guard? :headscratch

No, but the pressure switch on this model was mounted just below the trigger guard. See this article http://www.allenamerican.com/articles/2 ... s/8405.txt" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I think the fact that you have to squeeze the grip to activate the light is a problem. If you are a police officer and have your finger on the trigger, then the simple tightening of your hand will cause you to also tighten your trigger finger. Do this under a stressful encounter and you are asking for a ND.

" Police affidavits state the detectives were contacted by Alcala about a heroin deal and were attempting to take him into custody when the shooting occurred."

I have to wonder ... was he an informant? Or being a good citizen, at least when he made the contact?
The sooner I get behind, the more time I have to catch up.

It was a drug buy sting. This dead guy had contacted an undercover officer and was meeting him to buy drugs from the undercover officer. When they went arrest the guy for trying to buy drugs, the detective (not sure if the same officer the guy was gonna buy drugs from or a different one) put the gun on the suspect and it discharged when he attempted to activate the weapon light.
