Palmer - Speeding

Most CHL/LEO contacts are positive, how about yours? Bloopers are fun, but no names please, if it will cause a LEO problems!

Interesting. Do you know where I could find that? Link?
You will have to dig through their site to find it, but it is the office of court administration.

It would have been just as easy to cuff you and sit you on the curb, or in the back of his cruiser. You also handled it well (no pun intended). I would have been soiling myself if I dropped my license like that!
You worry too much maybe?
Yeah, maybe. Funny how you worry a little more about the little things the more you have to lose in life. At this point, successful in my career, great kids and marriage, I try to do it by the book. I don't really worry too much about LEOs since they seem to be a little more open to people in my profession, but I also would hate to drop my license onto the floor where my gun is.

Eh, kind of hard to explain to an aggie.

yep, that's the place...you can check any town, and you can specify whatever time frame you want to look at. The data I had quoted previously came from a chart that a guy had already gone in and compiled which listed the top 40 towns using 2000-2008 data. I just punched in for Jan. 2011 thru Oct.2011 and Westlake is still #1 and has increased its revenue more than double the amount quoted and for 2011 it is now a whopping $42,000.00 per resident. Estelline has also jumped into #2 spot with over $18,000 per resident.

Saw a Garrett patrol car sitting on I45 north bound just south of Palmer and north of Ennis. In many, many sojourns to and from DFW I've never seen that one.

Statistical information about Texas speed traps. If I'm not mistaken, Palmer is number 7. I was pulled over at the precise location everyone mentioned and my ticket was written faster than I could have ordered a Whataburger number 1 with a coke! These cops know how to write them! He did also mention about the cops up the street writing tickets as well. I am sure they're listed in the top 40 as well. They stated I was going 74 mph in a 60 mph zone. I was getting passed by a Mercedes CL63 (I was in a Malibu). Obviously, Mr. Popo felt I was the easier catch. I pleaded Nolo, asked and received deferred, paid online and will mail in my "promise to be a good boy" in 60 days. Here's another angle for them to nail you. You HAVE to send in a signed affidavit after your "probation" period that is notarized. Now tell me this isn't a hassled!

I'll be sure to flash my lights warning oncoming traffic of any picture taking popo in that area.

I'm not advocating speeding, mind you, but I think this (the Passport 9500ix) is a WONDERFUL tool to make sure that you are *not* speeding at "inopportune times".... :biggrinjester:

http://www.escortradar.com/passport9500ix-details.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It's the most $$$ I've ever spent on a detector...but WOW...it has saved my bacon more times than I can tell you...and that was just from one 1,900 mile trip (got radared at least 23 times, so I guess I could tell you that it at least alerted me 23 times, a mile or more ahead, and I made sure I was not speeding...the neat thing is that due to GPS it displays your speed on the display, so no need to look down at your speedo...yeah yeah yeah, I know, that's what cruise is for...but "maybe" mine is set a little higher? I dunno....).

Thanks for the list. Interesting that three on that list are right in the same area:
7 Palmer, 21 Ferris, 25 Rice.
