something good to offset Ohio

Most CHL/LEO contacts are positive, how about yours? Bloopers are fun, but no names please, if it will cause a LEO problems!

something good to offset Ohio

Observe how this Police Officer handles an open carrier who is also filming the encounter. This encounter went very well I believe.

I believe you got to cut and paste it in a browser, forgive my lack of computer skills.

Only had to click the link.

Oceanside, so we're in Kalifornia? This is an amazing stop considering the location.

I think my answer as to why was I carrying would be for protection if needed and or that as good a job as they do, the police can't be everywhere.
I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016.

Fellow Marine --- that seemed to break the ice. At the same time, Jeremy (if that was his name) was IMHO unnecessarily evasive in his answers to the officer. There's no need to be unmannerly or insolent, and I felt that his answer were exactly that. The officer was spot on with his enquiry and handling of the situation (though one could easily conclude he was performing for the camera just a bit).

Great example of a LEO properly handling a look-see. :thumbs2: :thumbs2:

Not so impressive attitude taken by the young man with the cell phone camera. :nono:

Personally, I saw no reason for the guy to be surly with the cop. The officer was demonstrably agreeing with the other guy's rights, and he adequately explained his reasons for asking. The officer was courteous. The other guy was not. My guess is that if the other guy's sergeant were to witness his behavior, particularly in light of the officer's courtesy, the young marine would be getting a lesson in manners and humility once he got back on base.

Man the OC was a jerk. If you OC, you should be proud of who you are and you have nothing to hide. The Officer was great and pro 2-A and the idiot OC did not appreciate that. Why in the world the OC can't state his name or even do not carry IDs on him (a lie, I guess). The OC was just crusining to test LEO response.

...if the OC's an active duty Marine, he's required by military to have ID on him at all times and produce it for LEO on command...which is reasonable...the internet's full of taped and videoed "encounters"...most of them seem to be looking to provoke a bad response...this cop was a patient man...and don't think he didn't KNOW he was being baited...

It seems that pretty soon, the OC folks won't have to worry about being unecessarily detained by the police.

It's kind of interesting that a movement essentially might end up killing itself.
