First contact

Most CHL/LEO contacts are positive, how about yours? Bloopers are fun, but no names please, if it will cause a LEO problems!

First contact

First LEO contact while carrying today. Unfortunately it was because I had witnessed a shots fired call in my neighborhood. I heard the firing as I was getting into my car to go to school and drove past the suspects as they took off. I hung around and tended to the "victim" and waited for the police to arrive. When I was asked for the details on what I saw and for identification I gave the LEO both my CHL and drivers license. He said the CHL wasn't necessary and he was very courteous. It stinks seeing this kind of stuff in your neighborhood.

Hopefully the victim is okay. Good job on hanging around to help.

It sure does stink. Very eye opening.

How's the victim?

The "victim" who was physically hurt was driving the car with bullet holes. However, when I looked at the bullet holes they were exiting from the driver side door. I am more than positive he was the shooter. I kept quiet about it and waited for the police to arrive because middle school just let out and kids were witnesses as well. There wasn't any press coverage over the indecent.

Were the "victim's" wounds unintentionally self inflicted (as a result of shrapnel from him firing through his door), or did the other guy shoot back/defend himself?

Almost sounds like a thug problem auto-correcting itself... :evil2:

I'm curious, did the guys involved look like upstanding citizens just taking their kids to school, or like the guy in the alley that makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up?

I was slightly concerned that I would be doing something bad if I were to divulge any information about the incident in such a manner.

I live in Grand Prairie.

I was getting into my car when I heard the two gun shots. I checked my watch for the time and drove around the corner to find an approximately 02' grand prix speeding towards me. I couldn't get a full plate. I came to and intersection with the "victim" laying on the curb with middle school kids and a few others around him. I knew one of them really well who witnessed some of the event. From what I understand, a deal was going down that went sour. The "victim" drove forward and hit a parked truck. Then he reversed and hit the street sign. Drove forward, then hit the grand prix. Somewhere in between the two rounds were fired. The victim got out and ran. The grand prix then hit the "victim" with their car. I saw them speeding away.

I tended to the bystanders and waited for the police to arrive. Told them what I saw then went to class.

They didn't look like very intelligible people, nor did they look like outstanding citizens.
