Ft Worth PD?

Most CHL/LEO contacts are positive, how about yours? Bloopers are fun, but no names please, if it will cause a LEO problems!

Ft Worth PD?

Post by suthdj »

Yesterday a kid down the block got sliced(Minor) by another kid(trouble kid) well to make a long story short they had cops(many) all over our neighbor hood looking for the "trouble kid" even had an eye in the sky, so I was told but never found him. Today the woman from across the street (daughter also harassed by kid) saw the "trouble kid" at the local park and notified the "sliced kid"s father to call police again. Now how is it they can spend so much resources and not find this kid and this woman spots him easy. It would have cost a lot less $$$$ if they just staked out his house or picked him up at school the next day, really how much does a helicopter cost to fly around. Is there a FW Leo on here that can clarify and enlighten?

And we all know that if the PD didn't make a show of searching for this kid, the local advocate of the 'wronged people' would show up and accuse the PD of not caring about the good people of that community...

Aint that the truth. There would probably be another "sue the cops" thread on a some gun board somewhere. :clapping:

Not LEO but how about logic.

The delinqent isn't hiding from Susie Homemaker, but he is trying to stay out of site line from those officers on the ground.

Why use the bird? How about the view from above is much better, it improves saftey for the officers on the ground, more proactive than staking the suspects house since he's already proved to have violent potential.

Yep they are expensive to fly, but when you have one not flying it does not save that much your fixed costs are still there. Personally I prefer knowing they are utilizing the tools I pay for them to have.

Can we say "over watch"?

Now yesterday they gave my son a ticket for riding his "Razor Scooter" on the street. Cuffed him searched him and released him. Oh and it took 3 squad cars. I asked why now after all these years are they cracking down on this stuff, basically it is to harass the local teens from committing more sever crimes. They say many teens in the area are responsible for many of the car burglaries, break-ins etc.... Oh and this took 3 squad cars.

My thought is okay there are BG teens - this does NOt and SHOULD NOT give probable cause to treat all teens like they are BGs.
