Pulled over in Sugar Land
I was pulled over in Sugar Land. By the time the officer was at my window, I had my DL and CHL ready, both hands in plain site. When I handed them to him I told him my proof of Insurance was in the Glove box. He just told me to slow down. Handed my CHL and DL back to me and sent me on my way. I kind of felt like it was a get out of jail free card! I know I just had a very good officer pull me over. That, and I was hardly over the limit.
I think they are starting to watch the school zones early.....to give us a heads up.

Re: Pulled over in Sugar Land
We were told in our CHL class that some folks were getting their CHL for this reason alone. They did not, own a gun or have plans to own one..

Re: Pulled over in Sugar Land
Seems like alot of trouble to go to just for a chance you might get out of a ticket. Seems it would be alot easier to slow down and obey the laws.

Yup. Particularly since it often won't get you out of a ticket.ProudNativeTexican wrote:Seems like alot of trouble to go to just for a chance you might get out of a ticket. Seems it would be alot easier to slow down and obey the laws.

Was not my intent to be speeding. I was only 5 mph over. I was just grateful to be let off.ProudNativeTexican wrote:Seems like alot of trouble to go to just for a chance you might get out of a ticket. Seems it would be alot easier to slow down and obey the laws.

I don't think that comment was aimed at you...I believe he was speaking about the folks XDpackinBob said were getting CHLs just to try and get out of tickets. That's how I took it, anyway.hankintexas wrote:Was not my intent to be speeding. I was only 5 mph over. Re: Pulled over in Sugar Land
No, HankinTexas that was not pointed towards you. I would have to say that most CHL do so that they can carry. I know from time to time people CHL have gotten out of tickets but there is probably a pretty good chance they would have not gotten a ticket anyway. I have been stopped many times before my CHL and only recieved a warning.

Re: Pulled over in Sugar Land
For those getting a CHL in hopes to get out of a ticket would be better off getting a PBA or Century Club sticker for their vehicle. I'd imagine it would be cheaper and FASTER! ![rlol "rlol"](./images/smilies/rlol.gif)

the CHL did not keep me from receiveing a ticket from one of Harris County's Constable deputies and I am one of the nicest politest individuals they have ever pulled over.

I got a warning instead of a ticket once when I was 17. I have never received a warning since getting my CHL. Maybe if I let it expire.... ![rlol "rlol"](./images/smilies/rlol.gif)
