To clarify, this bill adds the pictogram and abridged text as an alternative to the current statutorily-required text, rather than as an additional requirement.

As a business owner, if you could choose between a small sign (that is much more likely to be missed by the general public) and a big sign (what we currently have) that had the same force of law to ban the concealed or open carry of handguns in your store which would you choose?
Same question from the perspective of the law-abiding person?
Frankly, I really like the big signs we have now because they tell me exactly where not to shop and make it much harder to unintentionally violate the law.

That's the exact reason the shop owner prefers the small signs. He/she wants your money and doesn't care if you get arrested.

They can put up a ghostbuster sign if they will remove the criminal offense for ignoring it.

I was going to say....there is nothing preventing them from posting a gunbuster sign now. It just has no force of law. If someone is going to be able to legally prohibit me from entering a certain way, I want to be able to see from my vehicle so that I know to look for another business that offers the item/service I am searching for. So if they're going to reduce the size of the sign, we should remove the penalty for walking past the sign. It's only fair.
