Officers with the Barboursville Police Department said the woman called 911 telling dispatchers while she and her 5-year-old daughter were inside a department store a man tried to grab the child. That’s when the mother told police she pulled out a gun scaring the man away.

Police caught perp, a foreign national (Egyptian), at a nearby food court. In jail on 200K bond.

Are there that many people who didn't receive enough attention as a child? What possible outcome do they hope to achieve?
Isn't there enough real crime that needs to be investigated, without taking resources to investigate hoaxes? Now her financial future is ruined, to pay off the lawsuit, that is forthcoming.
