Mother of dead Popeyes robber: ‘Why did he shoot him five times'

#1

Post by Frankie »

Police said Herrera, wearing a hoodie and a mask, entered the South Side restaurant with gun and confronted a man and his family who were eating. After the man told Herrera he had spent the money he had on their dinner, Herrera turned toward the counter and pointed the gun at one of the workers, who was running away.
That’s when the man, who had a concealed handgun license, fired several shots at Herrera.

Ruiz said she understands the man who shot her son was defending his family, but she asked, “Why shoot him four more times? Why did he shoot him five times?”
I would like to ask her, how many times would you shoot to protect your family?

“Why shoot him four more times? Why did he shoot him five times?”

To stop the threat to his family.

Because six shots was unnecessary. :biggrinjester:

Now it makes me wonder. If I were in that situation, how many shots would I pull off before I stop? I know it'll be at least two, possibly 3 depending on how likely the perp is to be incapacitated at that point. That is all assuming I'm in control of my faculties as adrenaline is pumping through my arteries. I can definitely see myself going up to 5 or more if the perp is high on PCP, wearing armor, etc. There's really only one way to find out, and I certainly hope I never will.

If someone is threatening me or my family, I suspect it will be hard not to shoot to slide lock.

If he's still on his feet, I'll keep shooting. If he's on the ground but still has a weapon in his hand, I'll keep shooting. I'm not stopping until the threat no longer exists.

Mama,
1) You failed as Mama
2) Where is Papa?
3) Your 19's lost son, cannot acquire handguns, where did he get one?
4) Is your son in a Gang?
5) Is your son addicted to heroin?
6) Do you know all about that?
7) If yes, what did you about it?
8) Why are you blaming others on your failure?

In short, Your son was an Adult and he paid heavily for his decisions to commit an aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.
In my feeling department, I never wish to be in her shoes.

He must have been shooting "Louisiana Fast."
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
