GA: Cops seize defender's guns for evidence, LGS replaces for free

Investigators had to take both of Harrell’s guns as evidence, which prompted the sheriff to post Harrell’s plight on Facebook.

Local gun dealers Chris Ellis and Lamar Marshall stepped in.
“There’s nothing I hate worse than a thief,” said Ellis, who co-owns CL Defense in McRae with Marshall. “These guys could have very well killed this man.”
They decided to give Harrell a new Smith & Wesson .38 Special worth about $400.

I was wondering why they seized both of his guns, but after reading the article that part makes sense. I was worried that the police have seized guns that had no evidentiary value to the crime that was perpetrated against this man.
Anyway, yes, good for the gun shop. Hopefully they get much more than the $400 in free advertising and increased sales out of this.
