What Estes will support is irrelevant. The point of a filibuster is to keep talking until time runs out, at which point it doesn't matter what Estes thinks.

My feeling is if he sticks with it, it will kill any chance for open carry this session.

The people who are cheering Huffines are the same mental midgets who will blame the NRA if Open Carry doesn't pass this session.

So are you calling what he is doing a filibuster?
It fixes itself if they stop asking questions, or he moves to motion right?

A single Conservative will tear down this bill. Aligning himself with Democrats. Good grief.

Do you think Democrats are going to stop asking questions? NO!!! They are loving this. It's also going to energize them to offer more amendments and "chub" those also.

I'm shocked he's a Conservative. Considering where his district is. Maybe a sheep in wolves clothing.

Does he have to yield? IDK, I don't claim to be an expert.

I've called every Senator in the lege. They were all very nice.

I called Dan Patrick's office just for good measure and was told he gave them the time to talk Huffines off the ledge. Said they all wanted it to pass as-is and were hoping others would get him to pull the amendment.

Based on his website, he has some very strong Conservative endorsements. Now, I haven't followed his politics closely since I don't live in DFW area.

Does the amendment make the language exactly the same as the version passed by the house? If so, wouldn't that mean that if the amendment is adopted, it would make the bill exactly the same and then go straight to the governor?

Most CHL holders are only considering the amendment on it's merit. They don't know that it's a possible political land mine.

We were rolling through the anti-amendments with 4-1 being pulled vs voted on and I think you are absolutlely correct that this could fuel democrats attempts to offer more amendments and seize "the window" as so described by an opposing senator.
