I am new to the whole chl area. I would like a nice iwb strong side right hand holster, preferably tuckable. The places I would be carrying at would need considerable discretion when it comes to seeing any sort of defined bulge. Thanks for your help!

Hello friend-

http://www.comp-tac.com offers some wonderful products that will meet your needs. There are many companies, but the customer service and speed of this one is tough to beat.

Take care and welcome!

You're talking about a shirt-tucker holster, but you sound very concerned about definable bulge.

A good friend of mind makes a distinction between 'concealed carry' and 'covert carry'.

I'd describe concealed carry as 'reasonable efforts not to allow direct vision of the weapon'. To me, 'covert carry' is hiding the gun so well that just looking isn't going to detect it.

If you're carrying merely concealed but wish you were carrying covert, your anxious behavior may draw enough attention to 'make' you.

This sounds like a situation that's crossing from 'concealed carry' over to 'covert carry'. You might want to consider carrying in a way other than IWB. Pocket holster, belly band? (Smart Carry, Thunderwear?)

DeSantis makes a popular and inexpensive pocket holster called the 'Nemesis'. When I'm not using IWB, I like my Nemesis. :-) Hey, just noticed they've updated it, I may have to get the newer model.

You lose some speed and a lot of access, and gain concealement. If I buy another, I'll give these folks a hard look, too:

If you have your heart set on IWB, I recommend Blade Tech. Their customer service is _outstanding_. Here's a Blade Tech tuckable IWB:

I have one, and find it very comfortable, though I admit I don't use the tuck often. I prefer the loose shirttail or an open over-shirt or jacket for my cover garment.

I recommend giving SideArmor a miss; I wasn't impressed with their product or their service. You'll find a lot of fans of theirs on GlockTalk, where they post and advertise.

Good luck.

Thanks for your replies. I am still looking. Haven't decided which way I will go. It's just in the circumstance that I will be carrying, I will need to be as 'covert' as possible.

I carry G26 in an office environment daily and the Fist Secret System #22 is completely undetectable IMO and an excellent product. The Com-Tac MTAC is outstanding with your shirt untucked but will not work for me with the two visible clips. You can't see ANYTHING out of the ordinary with the Fist. I'd highly recommend it. Also, a cheap dress belt (fake leather) tends to work best because the velcro holds better.

Hope that helps.

I carry a Glock 23 mostly IWB. I us a C-Tac from Comp Tac. Your ability to be undetected with the G 23 IWB will vary on many things (your physical size and shape, the clothing type, color and fit worn and various others). I've been carrying the G23 for over a year and a half and have decided that I would prefer something a little smaller for me, probably a G27. With proper attention you can conceal the G23, it just may take some work and adjustment or wardrobe.
