New IWB holster from Jackson Leather Work

#1

Post by bmwrdr »

I gut my new IWB holster from Jackson Leather Work today and thought I'll share my thoughts.

In search for a perfect leather holster I gave Jackson Leather Work a try. The company is mentioned for good quality work on several reviews on the internet.
Over the years I went through several holsters and came to the conclusion Kydex is the most robust, lightest and sweat resistant material. Unfortunately it is also noisy when drawing or holstering the gun and it does not adapt to the body contour.
I ordered a simple IWB with a metal clip for my EDC with two goals in mind, the price had to be under $100 and the material thickness should be not much more than Kydex.
I ordered the "rt/blk/iwd/"for my EDC" on Jackson Leathers website. The leather seems to be robust without adding bulk, the gun fit is tight but it won't take a long time to break in. The clip is made of metal and the attachment to the holster is not bulky either. My overall first impression was very positive. After I had my EDC holstered I couldn't resist and went on a 2 mile walk to see how it floats in my waistband and I have to say it is nearly perfect out of the box.
The buying experience was positive, I called John Jackson, the owner and briefly discussed what I want and there it is. Very easy to do business with and that's what I like. The time from order to delivery was about 14 weeks but worth the wait.

I am not affiliated or related to Jackson but I thought I'd share a source of quality work and made in the USA.
