Pocket carry problem

I recently got a DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster as a gift for my LCR and so far I haven't really found a sweet spot (pocket) for it. When wearing regular jeans I can't get my hand in and on the gun in under a decade and when I'm wearing tactical pants I can't get the butt of the grip to not show due to the cut of the pocket.

The problem I suppose is that I like the idea of pocket carry as an option. Do y'all have any advice on where/how to get effective use from this type of holster?

I have jeans that I cannot pocket carry with, and jeans that I can. It all depends on the cut of the pocket. Dockers and such I am usually fine.

That is why I prefer IWB holster carried on a belt.

I've tried to pocket carry my wifes Sig290 and I just can't really make it work. I've tried every pocket on my jackets and pants and it either doesn't fit or the lopsided weight in the jacket feels really uncomfortable. I'll do it for a quick trip out to the store but I wouldn't do it for any real length of time. I'll strap on the Comptac and carry my M&P45c for anything longer.
YMMV :fire

You need pants with big pockets.

I thought I had big pockets! The tactical pants' pockets have enough room for a Glock 19 but the slanted top means you can't conceal anything. I'll shop around.

This is my exact problem. It just doesn't have a perfect spot and gets uncomfortable in jacket pockets. I liked the idea for a quick run to the store or something where I wasn't expecting to be out long but if I can't find pants with big pockets and wide openings then I'll be retiring this holster.

i bought several pairs of costco house-branded golf shorts that have great pockets that fit my LC9 in a remora holster without any problems. although i typically carry iwb in a theis holster, it's a nice option to have for long drives or to give my back a break for a day. other than one or two dress slacks, i don't currently have any long pants that work for pocket carry.

Depends on taste I guess. I really like Dickies carpenter jeans. Right back pocket is great.

You try the boot strap grip yet? I'm planning on ordering one to try on at least one of my LCR's. I have not found any of my pockets will fully conceal the bottom of the grip. I have considered back pocket carry but I don't even keep my wallet back there.

I haven't given that a whirl yet. I like the grip on the LCR even though it doesn't fit in the pants I own. I don't think I'd enjoy sitting on a revolver for even a quick run to the store, nor do I want to put that much pressure on the cylinder.

If you get the boot grip let me know how it works out :txflag:

Thanks for the tip! I'll have to check out the shorts.

One option is to have the pocket you want to carry in enlarged. A tailor or seamstress should be able to do this for you rather inexpensively. Another option is, find a brand of jeans with really large pockets. The "Duke" line of jeans sold online by Haband have the largest pockets of any pants I have ever seen. A full size 1911 will go into them and not show - - - printing, now that's another story. :tiphat:

Looser/bigger jeans maybe? I pocket carry an LCR on occasion and haven't had any problems. Your comment about drawing it makes me wonder if some larger jeans might help. I like a loose fit myself and I have no problem gripping the gun while it's still in my pocket --but then I may also have smaller hands. On the rare occasion I felt any concern about visibility of the grip I just put a handkerchief over it.
