IMI PT92 Holster Issues

#1

Post by CoffeeNut »

Good molded holsters for the PT92 are hard to find which is why I was pleasantly surprised to see that the Israelis were pumping out a Serpa like holster for various guns but also for the PT92. I ordered one through Amazon for $40 shipped and sadly the thing didn't work. The holster wouldn't lock in place like it is meant to even though the gun fit perfectly. The retention mechanism just wouldn't grasp the trigger guard as intended so I asked for a replacement holster since I figured it was just a defective holster.

I got the replacement holster today and I'm having the exact same issue. The gun slides in perfectly but the retention mechanism doesn't lock as intended. It can be forced to work but I'm not going to trust a holster that I have to "make" work especially when IMI and the company I ordered through stated it would work with my firearm.

It really is a shame because they have a ton of attachments for these holsters that make them compatible on just about every type of webbing/platform.

I can say that the customer service was top notch and I did receive a full refund. They even asked for a detailed description of the problem and a picture of my gun to see if the factory was screwing up.

Figured I'd let others know in case you were looking at this holster. Maybe the others work?

*meant to put this in the holster review resource but screwed up*

Curious what the ASIN is at Amazon - They show two (at least I found) IMI B005CMJJ30 and B00C259H80 both for PT92. The former has eleven reviews and all say good to go with railed. The later has only one review, but good.

Would like to know as I plan to buy one but don't want to go thru hassle of having to return. I have PT92 and PT99 all railed.

The ASIN for the one I purchased is B005CMJJ30. The good reviews are what made me purchase but the most recent of them is over 5 months ago. I'm thinking something got screwed up in the manufacturing process since then. It really would be a nice holster if it worked.

Thanks for the response. Guess I'll just wait awhile before doing anything. Did find a DeSantis leather holster that fits very well for the Beretta Vertec railed, but it is passive/friction retention (no thumb break).

No problem :cheers2: I asked the company to send me a note if they find out if the issue has been corrected and if they ever get back to me on that I'll update here.

Do you know the name of your DeSantis?
