Tactipac Holsters Gone Silent

#1

Post by RJGold »

Good morning.

I wanted to see if anyone on the forum is in the same boat I'm in right now. I hope this doesn't violate any rules (I read them and don't believe it does).

I ordered a Tactipac Fusion on 7 Jan. The delivery time was quoted as being about 5 weeks. For the first few weeks I got weekly updates telling me everything is on schedule. Monday will be 8 weeks and I have not had an update since week 4.

I've sent several e-mails to the company asking about delivery dates but have had no response. I can't find a phone number for them either.

I would really like to try one of their holsters but am growing concerned that they have my money and I have no product.

I hate to do it but am considering canceling my order and seeking a refund.

Anyone else in the same boat?

Thanks.

I just checked their web site and saw that they do not list a phone # but says one will be provided upon ordering. You might check the order confirmation for a #.

As a side note, I dont think I would order from a company that does not list a phone # and wants all payments made out to an individual instead of the company. Even as a sole propriator he should still have a business account.

I checked all my order information and never got a phone number.

Your advice about not ordering from a company without business credentials is sound. In hind sight, I should have adopted the same policy.

I did check them out with a few forums and review sites and they seemed to be on track with deliveries and their products got good ratings.

My only saving grace may be that I ordered with a credit card and can seek a refund that way.

Thanks.

Since they are not responding to your emails, I would send them 1 more informing that they have a set time limit (24 hours to 2 weeks) to either respond or send the merchandise or you will be forced to cancel the order from your credit card.

Per their credit card agreement, I don't think they are allowed to hit your credit card until they ship. If they did, that's a bad sign too. I'd call the credit card company sooner rather than later.

As we have mentioned in emails and on our website we are a small tactical manufacturing company. You may already know current political legislation and scares of weapons bans or seizures have caused alarm in our country for good reason. This alarm has cause a buying frenzy on weapons and all associated products.

You may have noticed you can't just walk into Wal-Mart anymore and pick-up your favorite ammo whenever you want to, because the shelves are bare. The truth of the matter is 2.5 million people and growing in American have attempted to or actually purchased a firearm recently since the "scare".

In fact if you will take a moment to look around the internet at product availability you will see most companies are back ordering or indefinitely sold out of most ammo, most firearms and many accessories.

I'm telling you all this to tell you that we have received an indescribably enormous amount of orders since November of 2012 and it keeps increasing. Being a small company we have had to hire and train more help which takes time (you can't learn to make a custom holster overnight). We have had to increase production and purchase the associated tools, software and supplies to do so.

We also, just like all other companies cannot gear up too high, too fast or we end up putting ourselves out of business when the "scare" and buying frenzy is all over with in a couple months.

All of this results in long handling times because we are working around the clock on an enormous volume of orders and we need your patience.

Most all of you are reasonable and patient and we appreciate that very, very much, and we will get your order out as soon as humanly possible.

However, some of you have sent less than reasonable emails and even threatening emails of slander and abuse that we just won't acknowledge or respond to. If you find yourself getting to the point where you have to send rude or threatening emails please just send the "cancel my order" email and we will be happy to do so.

We are not a member of the BBB, but the BBB is aware of the situation in our country currently concerning slow, backordered and extended delivery times on firearms and firearm products and accessories. Just so you know, we ignore any BBB complaints right now as they just aren't valid in this peculiar time in our nation. If you get to the point where you want to complain about customer service please just sent the "cancel my order" email and we will be happy to do so.

Along the same lines, if you get so frustrated with your order that you decide you want to vent your frustrations on YouTube, Facebook, your favorite Forums or Blogs and needlessly slander or malign our company, please just send the "cancel my order" email and we will be happy to do so.

In short, we love making our customers happy with excellent customer service and prompt manufacturing and delivery times, BUT it is impossible right now to do so. If you are able to be patient we will get your order out to you and keep you updated from time-to-time while you wait.

We will send you tracking information as soon as your order ships.

We anticipate our order delivery times to increase dramatically over the next two weeks as our manufacturing volume increases and consequently our daily shipping volume increases.

Thank-you again for making the choice to defend yourself and those you love.

God bless you and yours,
Anthony Battaglia - TactiPac

That's an interesting holster. I'm going to have to try one.

Interesting. I'd like to hear from someone who already has one.

I don't care how good the holster is. If somebody joins this forum to post a rant accusing members of slander, and offers no proof, that's not somebody I want to do business with.

Sounds like they have "A failure to communicate". I would cancel after that rant.

I ordered one in February, and have been getting weekly emails, I think 6 so far. Last one was last week, they usually go out on a Monday or Tuesday from what I recall. Not sure why OP hasn't gotten anything since week 4. I'm not too worried yet, from what I hear other popular holster companies are taking just as long. And with PayPal you've got 90 days to dispute an order.

BTW the post above from Mr Battaglia is a copy/paste of one of the emails sent to customers, which is probably why the tone is off and it doesn't directly address OP's situation.

I've sent several more e-mails to Tactipac and no response at all.

Still no phone number to call them either.

My e-mails have not been rude or threatening. I just want to know where my holster is.

It seems to me they would update the shipping and handling section of their website to tell people they will be waiting longer for their holsters than the 5 weeks for manufacture and 3 weeks for shipping mentioned currently.

Per my credit card company, I have to wait until 4 April to file a protest and recover my money (yes Tactipac charged my card on the day I placed the order). Unless my holster shows up prior to that date, I'll be filing that protest.

I recently went through something similar with a bullet order. They missed 2 expected shipping dates but understanding the situation and at their request I held on for a couple more weeks. Had made up my mind to cancel at the end of this last week but then on Monday I got a shipping notice in my email. Was glad I waited. Now have 150 of them loaded.
Tactipac's (posted) response does not address their lack of communications with some waiting customers very well and is almost hostile in tone. It's like a "quit bothering me" response. I understand there may be extenuating circumstances but that doesn't excuse non communication. A line saying sorry, but we're working hard to get your order out by a general timeline date might have saved this embarrassment. Yes this takes the communicator away from production but would ease the whole situation.
