How do you carry your spare mags?
Just wondering how everyone else carries their spare mags. I use a pocket pouch from bear creek holsters for my seecamp 380 ecd, but just keep a spare in my left front pocket when I carry any other (weekend) gun.
Re: How do you carry your spare mags?
If I am carrying OWB (95%) I use an open top belt mag carrier. If I am carrying IWB I use a closed top belt mag carrier.
Rarely will I carry my spare mags in my pants pockets as I personally feel it takes too much time to get to it/them and get it/them out. YMMV.

Re: How do you carry your spare mags?
I carry a 5" 1911. One mag goes into a Bass Pro large nylon knife sheath. It mounts horizontally on my belt and disappears. 2nd mag goes in a left side pocket. The sheath is big enough to carry 2 mags, but sometimes they get stuck together, and pulling out one drags the other out. Also it gets bulky.

I usually carry one in the left front pocket. Maybe a little slower, but better than nothing.

OK, OK.......
I carry two Wilson 47d's with slim base pads in two single Galco leather CONMC26B carriers. I find it is easier to position two slim single carriers than to have a big double carrier.

I carry it in an OWB Gerber branded nylon pouch originally intended for a multicolor. I have considered that one day someone might ask to borrow my multi-tool. I don't have an answer prepared ... ![Shocked ](./images/smilies/icon_eek.gif)

Re: How do you carry your spare mags?
When I am restricted in my carrying style at work, I carry only 1 mag in a single, Kydex, Uncle Mike's mag holder.
By clipping it onto my belt, but carrying IWB, I can "blouse" my shirt over it for concealment. This one can also
be clipped over the belt in an OWB style once an off duty civilan shirt is on, but it's so comfortable, so I just leave
it IWB.
When I am less restricted, outside of work: I carry 2 backup mags in a V-shaped, open top double mag holder from
Springfield Armory.
If one is carrying their weapon OWB with a concealment shirt, I recommend an open topped Kydex holder on the weak
side.
Prior to using the Kydex mag holders exclusively, I used a double mag ballistic nylon holder with Velcro flaps.
I found out at CHL Forum Day's "Speed Reloading of Semi-automatic" clinic that this was a totally terrible piece of gear
when attempting to grab backup mags. I have never used that one again.
It seems to me that all the serious shootists at Friendswood had the open top Kydex mag holders. These allow
the butt plates of your mags to face up for easy grabbing. It's important that you orient your mags the same way
all the time so that at a stressful time you can extract the mag from its Kydex and push it up your mag well in one
smooth operation.
IMHO, the carrying of mags in a pocket is not desirable. It's better than nothing, but since we carry our weapons in
proper holsters, it seems that mags should also be carried in mag holders. YMMV.

Re: How do you carry your spare mags?
I carry a 33 round mag in a nylon belt holder designed for a flashlight.
Re: How do you carry your spare mags?
Depending on what im doing i carry in my blackhawk single mag carrier (x2) on my belt or i toss one in my pocket plus another on my belt in a The Wilderness single mag pouch (horizontal) and so far ive done just fine with the 2nd one. Especially seeing as the one that i toss in my pocket is loaded w hornandy critical defense, no need to worr bout stuff in the hollowpoint with those! ![Mr. Green ](./images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif)

Re: How do you carry your spare mags?
I carry my spare mags either in a galco double mag carrier which I often place in my rear jeans pocket or I'll use a remora single mag holder and stick it in my front pocket. Both of these setups are comfortable to me.
