Eye protection for people who wear eyeglasses

I'm thinking about participating in IDPA. I've been reading about it and have read stories about ricochets from metal targets hitting shooters. I wear eye glasses all the time, but I'm wondering if I need more eye protection when shooting in IDPA. Is there such a thing as eye protection for people who wear eye glasses? I've seen tactical goggles on the Internet, but I'm not sure they would fit with my glasses on.

My goal in participating in IDPA would be to simulate real conditions as much as possible, so I don't want to take my glasses off to shoot. In fact, I shoot at the range with my sunglasses on, because I'm as likely to be wearing those as not when something might happen.

I wear protection over my glasses too.

I used to wear the Wiley X goggles, but my experience is they don't hold up well for the price you pay for them.

I like Cocoons or Solar Shield. Got the Cocoons at Cabela's, Solar Shield glasses can be found at Walmart, Walgreen's, etc.

I am no pro at IDPA, having only been to 1 match. But I wore my normal glasses.
As was told to me, they require eye covering, your personal glasses are fine (mine are however safety lenses, but they did not know that)

You might check with Oakley. I think they used to be big in prescription goggles.

I bought a large pair of Polar Optics today from the Walmart Vision Center. They are very comfortable and solve the problem I was trying to solve quite nicely. They cover my glasses, have a "shelf" on the top that goes over the glasses and rests on my forehead and side panels that will prevent anything from entering my eyes from the sides. They also had the Solar Shield glasses, but I didn't like the fit at all. The Polar Optics glasses were $24. This is a link that shows what they look like - http://diopticssunwear.com/products_fitsover.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I use bolle vigilantes for sunglasses they're full wrap with interchangeable lenses and a prescription insert, when shooting I have a pair of clear for indoors
and a set of yellow for outdoors overcast and the sunglass lenses for bright days. Parts are cheap and lenses are too and available everywhere
I usually pick the up on ebay. I got the glasses for 49. at wally world optical the inserts are 13.95 and the rx lenses were about 60.
I've been wearing them for 6years now.

I wear Wiley-Xs and really like them. I've also worn panoptix, but did not like the restricted field of vision. Both are full ANSI Z87 spec safety glasses.
