I just got my plastic today and I have an Uncle Mike's IWB holster that is pure garbage. Can anyone recommend a good IWB holster? Also, I'm curious about any info on a good shoulder rig. Horizontal or Vertical? I'm 6'2 and 170lbs sopping wet so it may be hard to conceal with a shoulder holster. Thanks for any help.

Spend the money, go with Crossbreed or Comp-Tac for a good Horsehide / Kydex holster (spend the cash for the horsehide - about $15 more, but well worth it)

I haven't tried these yet but a lot of folks say they are really good and only $50 shipped. Similar to a Crossbreed. Made by a guy Kurtis (
shieldedholsters@hotmail.com). From another board I read, he's made lots of these and I haven't seen any complaints yet. His turnaround time is very quick too. Read more on this thread:

Note how he also cut slots so you could wear it OWB or IWB. The 2nd photo also has a "barbed wire" design around it. Other photos show some in natural leather besides the black and he apparently does mag holders too.

Quahog, wow, nice find.
If (or when LOL) i get a new carry weapon, for $50, I will give them a try, for certain!
(I am only responding here, so this goes into my "view your posts" so I can look it up later LOL

Agree with Teamless. I have several of the Mtac's and wear them with tucked shirts. The horsehide on the inside in the summer is GOOD. You might have to get a larger size shirt so it covers better. But after several years of using them, I have no complaints, just good things to say about them. Mtac is made in Texas.

Thanks Quahog for that link. I knew I had seen that ad for his holsters, but couldn't remember the forum. Thinking about getting one.

Yep, I agree with Crossbreed Supertuck. I got mine 2 days ago and it is the most comfortable IWB holster I have ever used and gives you the option to tuck or not. I highly recommend it and it took 3.5 weeks to get. Well worth the wait.

In a few days, I am going to order one for my XDm... looks enough like a Crossbreed that I bet it's plenty comfy.

have to add my vote for the crossbreed. I've been packing an xdm 45 for 2 months now. It has conformed to my body at 3:30 position so well that it feels like part of me. I wear a tee shirt w/suspenders to carry the weight w/xlg cover shirt. The only person who has spotted me is a lady I'm currently dating. (she might be a keeper?) I was so impressed w/crossbreed that I bought one for my left side & have worn it in addition to the right side long enough to break it in. I've got arthritis & thought it might be a plus to have backup. 2 xd-45's are heavy, but not more than I can handle. You've got 2 choices: lose weight or buy bigger pants!

Another agreement here. I carried an XDm 40 in a Comp-Tac Minotaur for 6-7 months and then swapped that out for the XDm 45 last week (same holster). I wear it all the time and even keep the holster in place when I have to disarm (the kydex squeaks on the leather sometimes though). I'll probably try a Crossbreed or maybe a Tucker on the next carry weapon that needs a holster.

I’d run something that has at least two hooks for the belt. It better distributes weight evenly, IMO. (ex. Crossbreed, tucker, MTAC)
