CrossBreed SuperTuck IWB holster

Post by 57Coastie »

I do not often write reviews of new (to me) products, but CrossBreed deserves this one.

Having already accumulated my customary drawer full of holsters for a gun safe full of handguns during the many years I have had my CHL, I finally found the winner among the IWBs -- the CrossBreed SuperTuck. After rejecting for many reasons all the other fine members of my collection, and deciding on my Ruger SP101 as my customary carry handgun, now that I have the SuperTuck my search is over. Comfortable and eminently concealable. No gripes whatsoever. My almost 75 year old well-fed tummy has finally been accommodated.

And also appreciated, was the personal customer service extended by the CrossBreed staff, which I am comfident I will continue to have should I ever need them -- which is doubtful since all is very cool on this end.

You can pay more, and you can pay less, but as far as yours truly is concerned there is no contest with the CrossBreed SupeTuck.

All the best,

Jim

My first IWB holster was a Kholster. It was OK, but didn't offer the comfort that I expected.
Well, I just purchased the Crossbreed SuperTuck and found it to be everything I've heard about.

I did make a slight modification in the form of a DIY combat cut.
Not much, just a little trim to allow my thumb to get a better grip on the gun.

After owning both holsters, hats off to Crossbreed.

I have 3 Supertucks. They are comfortable, and nice holsters, and a good customer service is icing on the cake.

Two SuperTucks here. Don't know what I'd do without them. Probably go back to exclusively pocket carry, which is what I did for a few years until I finally tried a Crossbreed. Mark, the owner, is has been perfect so far in terms of customer relations too. Can't say enough good things about his company.

Can you say about how large the entire set up is? In the pictures it looks kinda on the big side.

It's large, which is what makes it comfortable. The sheer size scared me off at first too, but the design being larger distributes both the weight (via dual struts/clips) and the "impact" of the gun, impact being the "pointiness" of the gun and holster pressing into your body (painful for a fatty like me). The amount of leather helps too, becaue no part of the gun touches your body, all is buffered by the big hunk of leather.

And the kydex shell combined with the leather backing makes for a very fast draw (fastest I've had from any IWB) and easy reholstering (the kydex doesn't compress under pressure from your belt when gun is removed as some lesser cowhide IWB holsters can do).

Here is a link to a tread on the site that compares the two.

I have an MTAC and carry my SA XD9 subcompact in it.

It is very comfortable, fits my firearm perfectly, and is a very high quality piece. I'd buy another in a heartbeat if I had a different carry weapon.

I also have a Galco "JAX" which is outside the waistband, but inside the belt. It's 100% leather, and just collapses when the pistol is drawn. I am afraid I'm going to shoot myself in the buttocks when I reholster    - It's just lying in the bottom of my range bag, never to be used again (I'm heavy, thus need to cinch my gun belt tight). Today is the day I go on the 60 lb. weight loss regimen.

Both are great but I would order Texas given the choice! That is why I have Comp-tac gear.

I have owned two Crossbreed's, one for each gun I have. I wear it 12 hours a day which includes moving around, driving, etc., and I have never had any issues with it being uncomfortable. I do have to add that the belt Crossbreed makes will make the holster even better. I had trouble concealing my Springefield XD SC but as soon as I put that belt on you could not tell I had it on me. As far as customer service goes, they are very fast when it comes to getting their products to the customer.

I was really impressed with how fast they got my holster out to me (about one week after I ordered it) when I believe they said that they were backed up on orders. But they may have sent it faster cuz I said it was my birthday (it was). It is extremely comfortable as well as others have mentioned.

What difference did the belt make? I am thinking the CrossBreed just cause I like the metal hooks better then the plastic,
