Nightsights on an XD sub-compact?

I'm looking to purchase a Springfield XD Sub-compact. I know that most of these do not come with nightsights. Being that it has been difficult to find one that does come with nightsights, I am exploring the option of adding nightsights to one that currently does not have them.

Does anyone have any suggestions on which nightsights would be a good fit for this weapon and also what would you guess my investment be for the sights and labor?

Check out the XDforum. Those guys are always "improving" their XD's. I have two XD's and haven't seen any need to "fix" mine.

Good luck.

I have a friend that has had these installed on all three of his XD's and loves them http://www.truglo.com/content/products/ ... sights.asp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

As Oldgringo stated, the XD forum at http://www.xdtalk.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; has some good info, including a guy that will install these for you fairly reasonably if you send him the slide. He is the one that installed them on my buddy's guns.

I have night sights on my Dan Wesson CBOB 1911. I really like them. But, one complaint I have is they're harder to see in the daylight than my painted sights on my XD. I filled the cavity in the sights on my XD with white crayon - they show up very well, and are easy to repair/restore (scrub it with a crayon again, and wipe off the excess). If I were to buy tritium night sights down the road, I would probably buy something like the XS Big Dot.
