Holster security?

I am looking for a leather holster that will hold my weapon securely in the holster. I ride a motorcycle all the time so I am on and off a lot. I don't need the weapon falling out of the holster. Anyone recommend a holster by make and model that will do this. My weapon is an XD 45 with a four inch barrel. I am not interested in a kydex holster

Welcome to the TEXASCHLFORUM. :txflag:

I don't have an answer to your query but rest assured, more than a few will be forthcoming.

I ride a bike as well and wouldn't want a gun falling out of my holster either. Waiting on the plastic (about 4-5 days out) and can't say for sure; but, my High Noon Split Decision seems to securely hold the gun in the holster. It is an IWB rig and is tuckable. Bought it to practice carrying around the house and is comfortable and conceals my XD9sc quite well. Cheap enough to be worth a try. Like OldGringo I am sure there will be many suggestions to follow.

Howabout a leather/kydex hybrid like the Mintaur MTAC from Comp-Tac?

It has the comfort of a leather holster, conceals very well, and will hold your pistol securely. In addition, the retention is adjustable to your needs via tension screws. I love mine.

Welcome aboard & we are glad to have you.
As stated above you will get several good choices offered here.

I carry OWB in a Tucker HF1 or a Boomstick holster by Jeff Wright. A Bruce Nelson design. Both are absolutely secure. We are presently working on an expansion on our church. I have been up & down ladders, on the roof, hanging over scaffolding & not a bobble. I mow several yards & large lots in the summer for extra income. bouncing on a rider, on & off it, have one pretty steep side angly ditch & never a problem.

There are others good holsters out there & I will assure you if you decide on a holster by one of the quality makers your gun will be secure getting on & off your bike. It will not fall out. Check out the holster resourse under the gear section.

When you see one you like ask about it on the board by name. There will be someone on the board that has one & will talk to you about it.
Good shopping.

I wear both of my XD's (not at the same time :smilelol5: ) in a Don Hume J.I.T. and find them to be comfortable, fairly well concealed and quite economical. Granted, I haven't had to wrassle anybody while carryin' yet so I don't know how that will work out. I'll be wearing them this summer when we hit the high country on our ATV but you'll have made your decision by then. There is definitely no shortage of holsters; e.g., Cross Breed is a sponser of the XDTalk forum and apparently have a trial period on their product. Check 'em out?

Semper Fi and Good luck.

here is another bike thread that was started last week. There are some good suggestions in that thread too.
