Texas Jack's gun leather?

#1

Post by 9mmfan »

I was wondering if anyone here has any experience with holsters from Cimarron/Texas Jack's. I am specifically interested in the shoulder holster for my 3.5" Thunderer. I asked on another forum, and got one response, which was positive.
I like the fact that they lack a strap that wraps around the front of the torso, which most of the "hucklebery" rigs I've seen have. It appears pretty much identical to the El Paso Saddlery 1879 Texas Shoulder Holster.

Also, does anyone know if these are normally stocked, or is there a wait time?

Not in a rush to buy, as moving was very expensive, and the wife and I are just getting situated into our new jobs. Just curious.

Thanks.

Well I guess ain't nobody here old-timey. On yet another forum, somebody said they were made by Hunter. Guess I'll just have to jump in with both feet when I finally have some extra cash. Figured it was a long shot, as it is something of a niche product.

Edited to add: Another source, who says he worked for Texas Jack's and ordered the leather for the store, says they are made by El Paso Saddlery. In my head, I thought this was the case, and thought they appeared identical. Makes me feel much better about the whole thing.

If'n I wasn't so broke right now after relocating, I would have already ordered one. :cryin
