New NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home Course

#1

Post by Charles L. Cotton »

The NRA will release a new personal protection course, NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home (PPOH), sometime in January, 2007. I will be scheduling a PPOH class in February or early March, but the exact schedule hasn’t been set. This new course is a minimum of 14 hours, but I will be running it as a 16 hour course, with at least 7 hours will be on the range. Obviously, this will be a multi-day class (probably two days).
I am very impressed with this course and I think it will enjoy the highest demand of all of the NRA courses. The Training Division has done an excellent job. There’s even a segment dealing with techniques and drills for drawing from a purse-holster or a briefcase-holster that will be invaluable for the ladies When I was being certified to teach this course, we made sure there were no cameras in the room. None of us wanted to be photographed carrying purses!

Send me an email if you are interested in taking this new course and I’ll put you on my email list. At this point I’m not taking registrations, as the exact schedule and fee has not been set. Also, this course isn’t one for people who are just learning to shoot, so the NRA has established the NRA Personal Protection In the Home is an NRA prerequisite for taking PPOH. If anyone wants to take PPOH but hasn’t taken the prerequisite course, let me know and I’ll schedule a PPIH course sometime in January or early February.

I need both of those, but taking 2 weekends off in the first quarter may not be easy. Please let me know as soon as you have a schedule, so that I can work on it. Thanls
