CQC AAR
The class covered a mix of hand-to-hand skills, gun handling, and live fire. Broadly, the subjects were:
• handgun disarming - standing front & rear, seated, third party
• handgun retention - extended arms, close ready, in holster
• contact draw stroke - stationary opponent, charging opponent
• firing from the contact draw stroke and close ready
• breaking contact after the above actions
• a quick review of GDH foundation shooting and gun handling skills
• commands - tape loop(s) - before/during, as well as afterward
• shooting while moving - backwards, laterally, angular
• engaging multiple targets - sight video
• shooting from the ground - 360 degrees
• close range gun on gun - SIRT and live fire on paper
• contact weapons - how close is too close? (Tueller)
• contact weapons - some options when they're too close
I probably forgot a few topics. I dictated notes to myself in the evenings but haven't reviewed them yet.
Instructors were John Holschen and 2-3 assistants/coaches at a time (out of 5 assistants over the weekend.)
Eight students. Two LEO, one electrician, several tech workers (from Google to Boeing) and a commercial fisherman.
