I am one of flintknapper's instructors. I was not able to be there for Eugene's clinic, and sounds like I missed out.

I am writing to ask permission to use some of your kind words posted here in our next newsletter, that I am currently working on.

I won't be using any screen names, or real names for that matter. Just a few select quotes from those of you that posted to this thread.

So whoever is the head honcho around here... Let me know if it's a thumbs up... or thumbs down....

Thanks...

I couldn't attend the clinic because of a schedule conflict. However, as for TexasCHLforum, I have no objection to you using any posts here without the screen names. If the posters have no objection to using the screen names, or their real names, then I have no objection either, but I'll let them respond on the name issue.

Thanks for joining us at TexasCHLforum.

Thank you sir...

Quickly looking over it, here are some of the quotes I would like to use, and the people effected that I would need permission from:

We left the seminar with a great deal of information. I had no idea how little I knew and how much I HAVE to learn about the offense and defense of a knife. It is common to hear about how brutal a knife can be and I witnessed this working in the prison, but it was amazing to see what someone is capable of with some training and experience. The speed associated with some of these tactics is absolutely amazing.

The format and staff were wonderful and I would not think twice about sending someone I loved there to learn self defense. Very straight forward and practical.
KinnyLee wrote:Like Jason and Tom had already mentioned. The siminar was wonderful. Eugene, John, and everyone else has a sea of knowledge. I wish I could download all this knowledge from you guys in knife defense as well as all the martial arts into my brain just like the Matrix. I will definitely be coming back for more visits when you offer more classes.

I have to look to the younger generation for a word to describe yesterday, AWESOME! Even more so the day after when I have had time to reflect on it.

Let me see where to start, first, you have all heard about the guy who could go bear hunting with a switch, Flintnapper could take him and the bear at the same time! What was it Walter used to say ''no brag, just fact ''

Ya'll know by now when I write something it's usually short and sweet and without much window dressing, kinda like me, plain. This shouldn't be like that, I wish I had the word's to describe the Art's that I saw yesterday, all I can think of are VERY FAST and DEVISTATING. I didn't see any choreography or acrobatics, they weren't dancing, the take down's and throw's were to get away from severe pain or to keep from breaking something and they were taking it easy, it was obvious that bone's could have been broken. :ack: Thank God they didn't ask the old man to do the take down's, I got to just go through the motion's, slooow-motion.

Kenny, Jason and I decided on the way home that we needed to get in shape [ as in able to RUN FASTER ] :willynilly: and to get faster with our gun's. :fire

Thank's again Flint and tell Eugene again I was seriously impressed.
Thanks...

Hi BJ,

We certainly missed you at the seminar, but we understand schedule conflicts.

We all had a great time.

As you might imagine, I have no problem with you printing anything I was involved in. Thank you for all the wonderful training and personal attention over the years. Perhaps you can post the link to the review at a later date when you are finished.

Also, I hope you will choose to stick around, there is a nice group of people here, and we could use a "Martial Arts Hall of Fame" person to advise us on empty hands tactics. Of course, we know you CC too.

See ya at work.

John

John I plan to stick around. I like threads I've read so far. Good group of people with their heads screwed on straight.

With my schedule, I probably won't be what you call a regular, but I definately plan on dropping in when I can.

I will post a link once I have uploaded the e-version of the newsletter.

Thanks again!

Great!

Permit me to be the first to say welcome.

We look forward to your contributions here, and will watch for the link at a later date.

Since this event is over, I'm changing this thread from a sticky to a normal thread. I didn't want anyone to think I had deleted it.
