Knife Training?

#1

Post by jbirds1210 »

I have asked this in another forum and got some information (Thanks Gary), but wanted to post it here.

I would like to participate in edged weapons training. I would prefer that this course be 1 or 2 days and somewhere in the state of Texas. I have no interest in learning the weapons offered with many schools that specialize in this training (sticks and other weapons that are not able to be concealed).....I just want to learn to maximize the only carry option I have at certain times....a good sharp folding knife.

Thanks for any information! All suggestions will be appreciated.

Hi Jason,

If you can generate enough interest, I can probably arrange a seminar up here (Nacogdoches) at the Dojo.

I've PM'd you.

Flint.

I'm down as long as it doesn't interfere with John Farnam's class. ;-)

Brian Hoffner teaches a knife self defense class although it is not listed on his current training schedule.

You might contact him.

Ill show interest, would all depend on schedule but I could see myself driving 300 miles in any direction for it.

Driving time from North Houston to the Dojo in Nacogdoches is just over 2 hrs.

I am working on getting some information together and also possible dates for a seminar.

Will post back when I know more.

Glad to see the interest.

What kind of drive is it from Lake Ray Hubbard to Nagadoches?

I'm definitely interested in some more edged weapons training, just depends on schedule and location.

Your drive would be a little over 3 hrs.

I am sure the date of a seminar would fall sometime after the 1st of the year.

I'll post back after I have contacted my former instructors.

I only revive this old post because of the above quote and there was a lot of interest. Nacogdoches is a ways away, but I would consider it.
Would there be restrictions? Age, experience level, physical ability?
