Getting discouraged

#1

Post by baldeagle »

Every single firearms-related bill that has gone to Calendars is still sitting there. It's beginning to look like Strauss isn't going to let a single firearms-related bill out of the Calendars Committee and onto the House floor for a debate. Texas will never make progress until Strauss is deposed. It's time for conservatives to rise up and throw this man out.

I sent the following to my Representative, Angie Chen Button, who is a member of the Calendars Committee.
Angie, a number of firearms-related bills are sitting in the Calendars Committee and not being voted on. Would you please do whatever you can to bring these to a vote? Texans deserve a fair hearing for these bills and an up or down vote on the floor of the House.

HB 47 - I support
HB 48 - I support
HB 153 - I support
HB 485 - I support
HB 508 - I support
HB 698 - I support
HB 801 - I STRONGLY OPPOSE
HB 928 - I support
HB 972 - I support
HB 1009 - I oppose
HB 1076 - I support
HB 1304 - I support
HB 1314 - I oppose
HB 1344 - I support
HB 1349 - I support
HB 1421 - I support
HB 1872 - I support
HB 2407 - I STRONGLY OPPOSE

I may ruffle some feathers with this comment, but I think it needs to be said.

If your legislator voted for Straus as speaker in 2011, and you voted for him/her in 2012, and he/she voted for Straus as speaker again in 2013, then you're part of the problem.

Since Straus was elected by affirmation and not a recorded vote, how exactly would you know that?

I reminded myself today that any bill the Speaker of the House wants to pass will get out of committee and to the floor timely.

If they do not make it to the floor, it is because the Speaker of the House did not want it on the floor.

It really is that simple.

Clearly the only answer is to move to the 121 district and unseat Strauss in 2012. by this timeline we will have open carry and campus carry by 2015

Why do legislators keep coming here if they have such thin skin? its like an Asthmatic who walk passed the smoke pit everyday and lectures everyone there how bad it is for them and how everyone is being inconsiderate.Or a vegetarian that comes to your BBQ without giving notice of their diet and is shocked when there is nothing there for them to eat

Why get into politics if you can't take an insult the first place?

A dictionary once fell on my foot so i have to admit words hurt. Stay off the internet it you can't take hurty words. Hurt feelings and toothless death threats are practically the currency of the internet
