I would be all over this one if it was the No Thumb Safety model. :(

A private party to private party sale between two Texas residents is simple:
  1. Agree on a price.
  2. Agree on a place/time to meet and complete the sale
  3. Hand over the money and take the gun.
Additional points that I will do to be prudent:
  • Each party should ask the other party if he/she is a Texas resident. I would like to see a Texas driver license or similar ID. I do not need the name/address, just a glance at the Texas ID with their picture (I cover my name/address with my thumb) demonstrates a good faith effort to establish Texas residency.
  • The seller should ask the buyer, "Are you disqualified under federal law to possess a firearm?". Again, demonstrates a good faith effort.
  • The buyer should ask the seller whether the gun is stolen or not. Again, a good faith effort.

There are people who get all squeamish about private sales and try to add on all kinds of extra conditions to "feel good" about the transaction. For example, they will "only sell to a Texas CHL", or "require a written bill of sale and proof of ID". Personally, I think both conditions are unnecessary and ridiculous, but that is my opinion worth what you paid for it. :tiphat:

That's a bummer. I'd pick it up, but I have already been accused by the holder of the purse strings of trying to create a museum of small 9's.

I'm just north of S.A. (Schetz/Cibolo) and I'd be interested if it's still available.
