Looking to purchase around 1k rounds of 223/5.56 and 500rd or so of 45acp in or around the Houston area. Was wondering if any good places for quality reloaded or re-manufactured ammo. I seen Freedom Munitions and USA Ammo but can you walk up and purchase there? Or does anyone know of other places around, I know use to be couple places in Texas City but can no longer find sites to even know if still in business, also was a place in Conroe CCC Ammo but no longer see them either. Looking for mainly just target stuff so not too worried about being reloaded or re-manufactured as long as its good quality

edited: or would even consider trading Colt Double Eagle http://texaschlforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=60170" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for ammo

Don't know how close you are but:

Ammo To Go
Brenham, Tx

They have a web site. To my knowledge you can walk up also.

"I've seen Freedom Munitions and USA Ammo but can you walk up and purchase there?"

Freedom has info on the web. I'm pretty sure they have a retail location.

thanks, i seen them pretty long drive -- i would consider buying over internet but being disabled and on disability if i make a deposit into bank account they consider it income (went through that one time before last yr after making a deposit for xmas stuff) -- crazy they look at it like that but dont want to go through that again and my bank account is drained -- lol

Yes. The retail location at 290 and Jones Road (in the strip center near Harbor Freight) opened officially just nine days ago and is a full-function retail site.

I've had a lot of mail order/Internet transactions using USPS money orders. You can also get an "anonymous" pre-paid debit card using cash at a Walmart.

There are options other than a bank account.

Not extensively; probably a total of about 300 in two calibers. Been just fine so far.

They have three different "grades" (for want of a better word): brand new, remanufactured, and "blaster." Their manufacturing process is pretty impressive, including pressure testing all brass, and after reaming the primer pockets the cases are acid washed, tumbled, then roll-sized. The "blaster" ammo is made to exactly the same standards using the same bullets as the standard remanufactured ammo, but in the final sorting and packing process some small percentage of the cases don't look quite as pretty--don't look brand new--and those rounds get sorted out for the "blaster" line. A little bit cheaper, and fine for the range.

BTW, if you end up deciding that you're no longer in the market to buy the ammo from another member here, just put that in a post and I'll close and move the Topic.

big selection -- pretty much everything but 5.56 -- tons of 223 ammo just no 5.56 ---- on prices pretty much same as advertised online for 45 and 223 i didnt pay much attention to others --- for 223 1000rds fmj 55gr was $388 and 500rd of 45 RN was $170

hopefully will make it by the range tonight or tomorrow so if mods want to leave this open will report back if any issues come up but i doubt there will be --- also i have price list if your looking for specific ammo price let me know what caliber and will let you know

Glad you made it by the store. I don't know the owners personally, but I've probably seen them at Impact Zone. I understand they shoot WHIDPA.

The subject matter in this thread is a bit too scattered to move it to the "Commercial Deals" section, so we'll leave this Topic open for a few more days.
