SOLD: Marlin 1895GS SS Guide Gun 45-70 Govt.

SOLD ..
This is a Marlin 1895GS Guide Gun (Stainless) in 45-70 Govt.

I purchased this rifle online in 2011 NIB from a South Texas gun shop. Upon receiving it I discovered that the front sight was clocked to the right. Rather than sending it back to Remington I decided to just put a red dot sight on the receiver. I removed the front and rear sights and put a nickle blank in the rear sight dovetail. I also installed a follower designed for LEVERevolution ammo.

I took this gun to the range last month and sighted the Ultra Dot 25 Sight in at 100 yards using LEVERevolution ammo. Here's the Official specs:
Compact gun that weighs only 7 lbs. It features an 18½" barrel and a straight-grip stock for fast pointing. 4–shot tubular magazine (+1). Lever action; side ejection; stainless steel receiver, barrel, lever, trigger guard plate, magazine tube and loading gate. Hammer block safety. American black walnut straight-grip stock; cut checkering; ventilated recoil pad; tough Mar-Shield® finish; swivel studs. 18.5" with deep-cut Ballard-type rifling (6 grooves). 1:20" r.h. Adjustable semi-buckhorn folding rear, ramp front sight with brass bead and Wide-Scan™ hood. Solid top receiver tapped for scope mount; offset hammer spur (right or left hand) for scope use. 37", 7Lbs. MSRP $780.00

I have some XS sights as well that I never installed on this gun that I will throw in. I also installed a stainless safety blank in place of the crossbolt safety. The original crossbolt safety is also included.

The gun is just too much power for me and after sighting it in, I realized that I will probably never shoot it again. It has approximately 40 rounds thru it. I was saving it for my Son who lives in Canada, but he has a .338 Lapua rifle up there and really would not have a need for this one.

I have 675.00 into the rifle and 150 into the Ultra Dot 25 Sight. I have some LEVERevolution ammo (100+ rounds.....prolly 160 rounds but I'm not counting) loose in a metal ammo box that will be included in the deal That's 280.00 worth of ammo at 1.75 a round! I have the Marlin box, original removed sights, XS sights, Lock, etc.... that came with it.

There is one slight ding in the forearm wood that is barely noticeable (missed when driving blank into rear sight dovetail) DOH!

I would like to get $500.00 FTF in North DFW area. No shipping and no trades.

So, the lucky buyer is getting:
Rifle: 675.00
Ammo: 280.00
Ultra Dot: 150.00
LEVERevolution follower: free
Metal ammo can: free
Crossbolt safety delete: free
XS sights: free
Rear sight dovetail blank: free

Total value 1105.00 for 500.00! You won't find a better deal than that!

Wow, I would love this gun, but there's no chance of me driving up there. Great gun and great price, good luck.

Sorry, cannot do the deal with you as it is too far for me to drive to meet you. Wish you had told me you were in San Antonio area in your post.

Have another buyer (50mi from me) who I was talking to in PM when your "I'll take it" post came thru. He was actually ahead of you in the timing and the Rifle is sold to him.

Thanks for your interest.

I never asked you to drive to San Antonio. As I said in my message to you, I was perfectly willing to drive to Dallas to pick it up as you'd posted that you were willing to do. After getting your PM that you'd sell it to me I started making the arrangements to head that way tomorrow. I'm confused as to why you would have told me you'd sell to me when he was 50 miles away and ahead of me in line. But it's your rifle and your option to sell to whom ever you choose. I'm just disappointed at the way this happened.
