WTB 20 Gauge Pump Shotgun

#1

Post by Dan20703 »

A long time friend of mine that is a terminal Democrat has decided that he wants a home defense weapon. He has never been anti-gun but has also never owned one. He doesn't want a handgun so I told him a shotgun would be good. He thinks a 12 gauge might be too much recoil thus the search for a 20 gauge. Not looking for a show piece. Just a functional, reliable tool for him to use and practice with.

Thanks

Dan

Mossberg pump shotguns can be found pretty cheap... even new. It is hard to find a gun of any kind discounted much off the new price. In the old days... ... I would see used guns of every kind for real good prices at pawn shops. It has been awhile since I found a good deal at any pawn shop. My point is, it might make more sense to just buy a new one. Walmart had some el cheapo shotguns when I was there last week. I didn't look real hard at prices but they had quite a few. Our local Academy had the ugliest looking lime green camo pattern shotgun they have not been able to give away...LOL. Look for something like that and make them a real stupid offer. They might surprise you and take it.

One more thing. IMHO, there are more 12 gage pumps being offered used than 20 gage. It seems like the 12 is cheaper. I don't think the recoil difference is a big issue for a shotgun that is only being shot for self defense reasons.
