WTB 30-06 bolt action rifle
Hi everyone, I'm looking to buy or trade for a 30-06 chambered bolt action rifle.
Interested in Browning a-bolts and x-bolts, possibly later model Remington 700's, but pretty open to most brands/varieties, since it'll be my first hunting rifle. But I'm mostly set on 30-06.
I've got a Remington 1100 I could use for partial or full trade. I'm located in the DFW area.

Good question. I'd like to keep it under $600 for the rifle (all dependent on condition and type, of course), and if it comes with scope, a little more.Beiruty wrote: Your max budget is...
Really though, max budget depends on wife.

I dumped somre $1500 on My Tikka T3 in 30-06. I guess this is out of your range. Good luck.

look at this http://www.marlinfirearms.com/Firearms/ ... ion/x7.asp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I bought one on a whim in .30-06 and it's been excellent. IIRC it was around $280 new. Another $20 for rings and $150 for a mid grade scope and you are done.

I second the marlin, i've got an xl7 in 270. its got a nicer feel and imho is a step up from the mossberg maverick and remington 770. Imho it compares nicely to my weatherby sub moa, at 1/3 the price.

Thanks for all the replies and interest, but I picked up a rifle at the Dallas gun show.

I went with a Weatherby Vanguard, got a good price on it. Incidentally, Cabela's has them on sale right now for $350The Annoyed Man wrote:What did you get?
