GG, For anothe ladies point of view: I thought it would work well with skirts, however it makes me look like I added 20 lbs. to my weight! Nobody warned me about this before I bought it and I just did not consider it.

Sorry to revive a thread, but it seems as if the Smart Carry didn't get such a great review from this group.

Just wanted to offer up, that I have been carrying in a smart carry for almost 2 years. I like it a lot. The trigger is completely guarded against an accidental pull, so I don't fear my Glock 27 is going to "AD" when holstered.

It gives me the ability to carry my Glock with me when IWB isn't an option. I really like the deep concealment. The draw is a tad slower for me, but I'd always rather have a slower draw than no weapon at all which is what I had to do before I had my smart carry.

I'm a huge fan of it, it has its time and place, and compliments my holster selection nicely.

It sounds like the smart carry is okay for some occasions (like any holster, I guess). I can see where men would not want the barrel pointing toward any family jewels (I hope that term passes the 10 year old daughter rule), but we ladies don't have such problem. We wear our jewels on our fingers, wrists and ears. (Sorry guys, I had to.)

Dad said I can try out any of his holsters when I go to his house. I think he'll just give me any that he doesn't like or use. He said he's purchased a ton of stuff over the years and doesn't use most of it.
He did say that he bought a pocket holster for his .32 Kel-Tec. He loves it. He keeps it in his pocket during the summer. When he walks in a parking lot, he just keeps his hand in his pocket, which looks very natural. (I couldn't imagine doing that with my pager pal or even with it tucked in my waistband without looking like a gang thug.)
"If a man breaks in your house, he ain't there for iced tea." Mom & Dad.

The NRA & TSRA are a bargain; they're much cheaper than the cold, dead hands experience.

The Texas dealer lives in Lubbock and we are meeting him this week to see about getting at least one for me (medium for Glock 19) and maybe a large for hubby (17, or 21) He says we can have them for several days to see how we like them.
GG: Did you get a chance to try it out and if so what is your opinion? Was the medium the right size for your 19? Like Venus Pax said, we girls don't have the same issues as the guys do and I've been eyeing the Thunderwear for a while now. Was almost to the point of buying one when I found this thread.

I did get a medium and it does fit the G19 fine. I like it under loose dresses-my usual dress-style, and I can wear it higher as an IWB, but I am still waiting on my CHL (day 89) and have not worn it out of the house. I have worn it for hours at a time with G19 though and DH and son do not notice I have it on at all. I do like to wear a camisole or undershirt as the velco can rub a little, but I like the even weight distribution across the hips and not in one place. It will be my primary daily carry holster I imagine.

At night, I will probably have an OWB holster for quicker access.

Worth a try, they do have a 60 day full return policy.
