This is a nice looking holster. Are you saying this holster is made by S&W?

I think he means that it fits a S&W model #442.
whether or not it fits any other j-frames, I don't know

FWIW, IIRC, AFAIK, FTMP, IANAL. YMMV.

Thanks.TwinCarry wrote:This is a nice looking holster. Are you saying this holster is made by S&W?
No. The Holster is made by me. It is made for a S&W 442 snubby.

Lws380 - Very nice work.lws380 wrote:The Holster is made by me. It is made for a S&W 442 snubby.
The stitching looks very tight and uniform. The boning looks professional as well.

Re: WTS S&W 442 IWB holster
Thanks for the comments. My boning has gotten better over time and I had a holster maker from another forum give me some tips about workingthe edges to a better finish. The edges on some of my first holsters were pathetic at best, but they have improved. The more holsters I make the better they get and I enjoy making them. It is good to know when I buy another gun I can make a holster or two for it.WildBill wrote:Lws380 - Very nice work.lws380 wrote:The Holster is made by me. It is made for a S&W 442 snubby.

Re: WTS S&W 442 IWB holster
My guess is that it would not fit. The 442 has a round barel and does not seem as bulky as the gun you have shown. I even have a dummy gun for a S+W 340 PD that is also a 2 inch snubby and it won't fit very well. I can jam it in there, but to say it fits is a stretch. I think the 642 S&W is the stainless version of the 442, but other than those 2, I don't think so.DoubleJ wrote:You think it'd fit one ah deez?

Re: WTS S&W 442 IWB holster
Can you make this holster with a slightly higher inside section, to protect the gun from sweat? I might go ahead and buy this one anyway, but if you can make it a little higher, that would be perfect. I realize these have covered hammers, but still, a sweat shield would be nice.

Re: WTS S&W 442 IWB holster
I could make it higher on the inside as you asked. I've worn this as shown and the gun metal does not touch me. What does touch me is the butt of the gun, as it touches my love handles. When I wear IWB I wear a thin froot of the loom wife beater shirt and that works fine. I don't like gun, gun butt, or leather touching my skin, no matter if it is hot ot cold outside. PM me with more questions or details.BoneDigger wrote:Can you make this holster with a slightly higher inside section, to protect the gun from sweat? Re: WTS S&W 442 IWB holster
Here is one that I made a while back that has more leather at the top (both sides). Does not have the leather reinforcement on this one but it can be added. Is this closer to what you wanted?BoneDigger wrote:Can you make this holster with a slightly higher inside section, to protect the gun from sweat? I have the new S&W Mod 329 with 2 1/2 inch barrel. Will it fit in your holster for sale, lws380?

Re: WTS S&W 442 IWB holster
I really do not know, but I doubt it. I just found a picture of the 329 with a 2 1/2 inch barrel. Even though the barrel is the same length it is bulkier than the 442, especially under the barrel. Also the sites on the 329 are bigger than the 442 and that would likely impead getting the gun in the holster.Vettepartz wrote:I have the new S&W Mod 329 with 2 1/2 inch barrel. If I hade the gun or a dummy gun, it would not be hard to make a holster for that gun, but I do not have them. Sorry!

Re: WTS S&W 442 IWB holster
Thanks for the quick reply. I have tried every snubby holster that I have, and in all cases the high sights are the first things to get in the way. They are made onto the gun as if it were a Mack truck, but sure do make pointing in dim light a real breeze. I am not sure if anyone has a holster out there yet for this model as it is rather new on the market. Hopefully someone will chime in.

Is this still available?
